Retention & Cancellation

Your cable bill doesn't have to be this high

Bill Saved dials, navigates the hold, and gets you a real person. Then we coach you to the best deal — so you save $20-$50 every single month.

Cable bills creep up — and the hold times are brutal

Your cable bill was $89 when you signed up. Three years later, it's $139. What happened?

The industry playbook is simple: lock you in with a promotional rate, then quietly layer on fees. Broadcast fees. Regional sports fees (even for sports you don't watch). Equipment rental ($12/month for a box that cost them $40 in 2015). The promo period expires and nobody calls to let you know — they just let your rate creep up $5, $10, $15 a month until you've forgotten what you're paying for.

When you finally notice and call to renegotiate, you're looking at 45 minutes on hold, transferred three times, and a rep who either can't (or won't) help.

Most people pay $30-$60 more per month than they need to — that's $360-$720 a year.

How Bill Saved helps

1

We call and hold

Tell us your cable provider and what you're paying. We dial them, navigate their phone tree, and wait on hold — the average cable company hold is 28 minutes. When a real person picks up, we bridge you in.

2

You negotiate with backup

Depending on your tier, you get a prepared brief before you talk, real-time coaching and a live transcript while you negotiate, or Bill Saved speaks on your behalf while you listen.

3

Confirm your savings

Cable company agrees to a lower rate, fee removal, or package upgrade. We log the outcome, calculate your monthly and annual savings, and you see the new charges on your next bill.

Pick your tier

Cable renegotiation savings are calculated on a 12-month base. You pay a percentage of the annual savings you negotiate.

What people actually save

On average, cable customers save $20-$50 per month when they renegotiate — that's $240-$600 a year.

Renewed promo pricing

Lock into a loyalty rate for another 1-2 years, often $30-50 below the standard rate.

Package downgrades with upsells

Drop premium movie channels nobody watches, add streaming bundles you actually use. Saves $15-20/month.

Fee removals

Waived regional sports fee and broadcast surcharge — often $12-18 right there.

Loyalty discounts

15-20% off the full rate if you commit to another year.

Competitor price match

Spectrum matching an Xfinity offer. Cox matching a Frontier rate.

Cable companies have far more flexibility than they advertise. We get you past the reps who can't help to the ones who can.

Works with every major provider

If your cable company isn't listed, we can still call them — just let us know and we'll confirm.

Frequently asked questions

Will the cable company give me a better rate if I threaten to cancel?

Sometimes, but not always. The trick is knowing when that leverage works. If you're past a contract renewal window and have been a customer for 3+ years, yes — they'd rather keep you at a lower rate than lose you. If you signed up three months ago on a promotion, threatening to cancel won't help. Bill Saved's coaching knows which pressure points work and which don't. We don't waste moves on empty threats.

What if I'm locked into a contract?

Most cable contracts have early-termination fees ($100-$300), so breaking the contract to switch providers isn't worth it. But you can still renegotiate within the contract. Many providers will add channel discounts, remove fees, or give you a partial rate reduction without unlocking the contract. We negotiate what's possible. If there's nothing to negotiate, we'll let you know upfront.

How long does the call actually take?

Hold time varies by provider — Comcast averages 25 minutes, Spectrum about 20. Once you're connected to an agent, the negotiation itself is usually 10-15 minutes. Total time on the call: 35-40 minutes. We handle the hold. You just show up for the negotiation.

What if they say no to everything?

It happens — maybe you signed up at the absolute best promo rate and there's no room left, or you're on a no-flexibility plan. In that case, we document what you asked for and what they said. You'll know exactly what your options are. And we refund 50% of our per-call fee if no savings happen, because we believe we should only profit when you do.

Can I use this if I have a bundle (internet + phone + cable)?

Absolutely. In fact, bundles often have the most flexibility. The cable company cares most about keeping your whole package. If you're threatening to leave for internet alone, they'll fight harder. Cable bundles are some of our most successful calls.

Stop overpaying

Your cable company is betting you'll never call back. Betting you'll get frustrated with the hold and just pay. Betting you don't know what you could negotiate. Bill Saved tips those odds in your favor.
