Is This Legal?

Yes. Bill Saved operates within established legal frameworks for representative services. Here's the full picture.

You're Always on the Call

The most important legal fact: you are on every call. Bill Saved never speaks to a company without you present. This is fundamentally different from a service that makes calls on your behalf without your participation.

Representative Framework

Bill Saved acts as your representative — the same legal concept that allows accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, and family members to call companies on your behalf. You authorize this representation before each call.

Recording Disclosure

At the start of every call, a recording disclosure is made: "Your caller is joining now. This call is being recorded." This satisfies two-party consent recording laws in all US states that require it (California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington) and across Canada.

Handled Call Authorization

At the Handled Call tier, where Bill Saved speaks on your behalf, you first authenticate directly with the provider (confirming your identity as the account holder). You then speak a short authorization phrase on the recorded call, which is captured as a contemporaneous live authorization. Bill Saved does not speak on your behalf until this authorization is completed.

What Bill Saved Says

Bill Saved identifies itself as speaking on your behalf: "Speaking on behalf of [your name], who is on the line." There is no impersonation — the representative is clearly identified and you are clearly present.

Regulatory Compliance

Bill Saved complies with: - TCPA (US Telephone Consumer Protection Act) — calling hours, do-not-call lists - CRTC/CASL (Canadian telecommunications and anti-spam) — calling hours, consent requirements - CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) — data rights - PIPEDA (Canadian privacy) — data handling - All applicable state and provincial privacy laws

Your Data

Bill Saved never shares your SSN, full account number, passwords, or payment details. During calls, only your name and account reference are shared with the provider. Call recordings and transcripts are encrypted and available to you from your dashboard.
